What is a meteogram?

This graph combines different meteorological variables. In this case, the European Centre model shows the probability of cloud cover, precipitation, wind and temperature at the selected point and how these will evolve over the coming days. If we select points that are very close together, we will see that the graph does not change, as we will be selecting the same grid (the same pixel) from the model. The forecasts from the 51 model outputs are shown and grouped into box plots. The smaller the box, the more accurate the forecast, while if the box is elongated, this is an indicator of uncertainty. The solid line indicates the deterministic model forecast. This is a global model, with a maximum resolution of 9 km, which helps us to interpret the short- and medium-term weather forecast trend. Despite this, there are statistical adjustments based on the terrain that cause variations in, among other things, the temperature forecast.
